Alerts Overview
Alerts automatically monitor your inventory, orders, and data quality on a schedule and surface issues that need your attention — without you having to check manually.
Where to Find Alerts
Alerts appear in two places:
- Dashboard → "Alerts to review" section — shows all currently active alerts at a glance
- Settings → Alert configs — where you configure each alert's behaviour
Alert Types
Synplex comes with pre-built alerts covering four areas:
Inventory
| Alert | What it detects |
|---|---|
| PO Creation Recommended | Products needing a reorder within your threshold window |
| Transfer Recommended | Products that should be redistributed between locations |
| Assembly Recommended | Components needing replenishment for BOMs |
| Stockout Risk Despite Inbound | Products that will still stock out even with incoming POs |
Demand
| Alert | What it detects |
|---|---|
| High Demand Spike | Sales significantly above normal (anomaly detection) |
| High Demand Drop | Sales significantly below normal (anomaly detection) |
Orders & Pipeline
| Alert | What it detects |
|---|---|

| Delayed Delivery | POs past their expected delivery date |
| Draft Stagnation | Purchase orders stuck in draft |
| Payment Due Soon | POs with upcoming payment deadlines |

Data Quality
| Alert | What it detects |

| Missing SKU | Variants without a SKU assigned |
| Duplicate SKUs | SKUs that appear more than once |
Severity Levels
Each alert has a severity that controls its visual treatment:
| Severity | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 🔴 Critical | Immediate action required |
| 🟠 Warning | Should be addressed soon |
| 🔵 Info | Worth knowing, no urgency |
How Alerts Work
Synplex checks each alert's condition on its configured schedule (daily or a specific weekday). When the condition is met and the minimum record count threshold is reached, the alert appears on your dashboard.
A cooldown period (default 7 days) prevents the same alert from firing repeatedly — once an alert triggers, it won't trigger again for the same condition until the cooldown expires.
